Do not get a credit card from M&S the interest is horrendous..... I have just tried to move my balance from M&S to Virgin (no interest for 16 months) which sounded great ....but as I filled in the form there was a part at the end that stated you HAD to purchase insurance/protection? and if you did not fill that part in you were unable to go futher with the application .....very bad !!!! so I am still looking...................

well, that's what I mean with counter-indications... I wouldn't go over the 0% period though, In this case i shouldn't be effected by bad interests then, right?
  • Why not part with two quid and get a statutory report? The free trial is a one-off isn't it?

    What have you to lose?
can I do it as many time as I want?
    Yes.
doing too much credit research is not going to effect my credit score?
Searching your own file isn't recorded for lenders to see. Only yourself and the CRA can see the search.

Hi, sorry, as i posted before I do have a credit history. I tried to apply for a virgin card few months ago but I've been rejected.

I did a credit search afterward and apparently the problem was that I had a too simple credit history and I wasn't register for voting. I upgraded my bank account from classic to silver, with credit cards and all stuff, and got register for voting. therefore it should be fine now. In fact even though has been rejected, my credit score was very good.

When I mean credit history have you managed credit cards in the past, because if you have not I am afraid it could be a decline from Tesco's,they are a mainstream lender who look through applicants credit report and to look to see how you have managed credit before.
Without this think you might struggle.
Also to have good credit as you say you must have had a loan or credit card in the past for your rating to be good, without these a lender would not class you of having good credit.
