IB=incapacity benefit? well whomever is receiving the is not gonna return to workany time soon. first of all you would be converted from incompacity over to ESA/JSA. if you went straight from incompacity straight into employment review boards would look into how you miraculously went from incapable of work to getting a job. and lets say your on IB for a year may say you could have started seeking work after 9 months where heath was at a level to be able to work a certain amount. therefore demand you pay back some benefits.

so be careful. if you think your at the stage of wanting/able to work be honest now and move over to JSA/ESA to avoid financial problems if review boards get involved.

    next part of question.
if both on benefits and one comes off this may affect the housing benefits. so think wisely over whom is left holding the baby.

the main aim of working is to get financially independant, not to seek further benefits.

your child tax wont increase as it s a set amount. BUT you would be able to claim working tax credits if this is the answer you want

You do post some rubbish! There is nothing wrong with someone going straight from IB to work, and unless there was a compliance investigation prompted for other reasons there would be no question of the claimant having to pay back past benefits.

OP, if it is the disabled person returning to work, have you looked at Permitted Work?

If you returned to work your IS would be deducted pound for pound after the first £20. However, once you are working over sixteen hours you should be eligible for Working Tax Credits.

I have reported many of his posts as it's quiet clear that our newish troll ;) doesn't have a clue about benefits and is giving out very naff advice.

I'm still trying to work out what this new Incompacity Benefit is! ;)

If either of you are capable of working, should you be on IB at all?

Not that 'incapacitated' then eh? At least parts of you both are still working...always strikes me as odd people who are on 'sickness' benefits think it's acceptable to have a baby

Sorry i will give them to charity. I have an immune deficency back and forth to docs and hos at least twice EVERY WEEK. MY KIDS WERE BORN WHEN I WAS WORKING AND PROVIDING. I was only asking for when i get the clear from the docs.

Some people are so rude! If i wanted a lecture i would call Jeremy Kyle
