Outstanding debt

I recently put a claim in to santander to reclaim ppi on a loan. They have excepted and have written making me an offer,but they want to take the refund off my remaining loan debt. Is there a way round this??? I understand why they would want to do this as I owe them money,but am i right in thinking I dont owe them for the ppi,it was an extra charge added to my loan that I am entitled to have back. Anybody else had this, and can I get round it???

No. You are not entitled to have it back. It can be used within the financial product involved. Some will pay it back, some will alter the product. However, there is no entitlement for you to do it one way or the other. You can ask them but if they say no then thats the end of it.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). they are within their rights to do this if you are in arrears on a loan0
