Morning,
I have great neighbours, who takes in my parcels, brings me Lemsips when I'm ill, always has a bottle of wine or the kettle on when I'm feeling ****, lends me their dog for a bit a bit of a cuddle lol and are generally a bit of a surrogate Mum / family (without the nagging) as I am so far away from home.
In the past I have always just got them a huge tin of choccies as a kind of family gift, but this year especially they have been extra great and I would like to get them something a bit nicer, but my budget is only around £20 at a push £25 but I can not think of anything appropriate, and I find myself heading for naff candles.
The family consists of Grandma - a very young 60
Daughter - late 30's
Granddaughter -12 going 45
Any ideas?
Thanks
YDSM

Aww, they sound lovely - wish I had neighbours like that. Maybe make them a little hamper, could add some choccies, a bottle of wine if they drink (well the older two anyway!) some scented candles, maybe a few xmas things like a xmas dvd (can get them really cheap) some snowman soup - even some doggie treats so the whole family is covered0

Movie night in hamper
DVD, wine for the ladies, pop for the daughter, popcorn and choccies
Cook them a meal
Bake them a cake or some other edible gift0 -
I have some neighbours like that, always feel so lucky!
This year I'm going to bake a hamper for them. Some mince pies, a gingerbread house, truffles and perhaps a yule log. They are the sort of people that the homemade goods mean so much more to them than an present bought in the shop, especially if they know your on a tight budget!"Live each day as if it were your last and garden as though you will live forever"

We had a lovely hamper from our neighbours as a thank you gift a few years ago. As they're all women I would go for a girly night in hamper. Gilly's movie night suggestion is great, I love the idea of a DVD plus there are a lot of fairly cheap ones these days with 2 or 3 films of them.
If you want to save money on the hamper, just get a card board box, cut it to the right size and cover with wrapping paper.
I think your neighbours will really appreciate the effort you've made.0 -
This thread really has amused me now. We had a knock on the door from our lovely neighbours last night and were presented with a very nice hamper! That makes it a second time. We really do have the nicest neighbours (on the one side anyway lol). It contained a mixture of luxuries and everyday foods in a very practical storage box but it was a lovely thing to receive.0
