Need an unsecured loan fast (for medical bills)

Briefly - I travelled to Peru in August last year and ended up breaking my collar bone in an accident while mountain biking. I had to be hospitalised for three days in Peru.

I need to pay the medical fees to my doctor in Peru. So I need a loan of somewhere between 1.5 and 2.5 thousand (doctor is going to send me documents with the exact amount soon).

My situation is that I'm 21, still living at home and a part-time university student. I don't have a job at this time but I'm reviecing JSA benefits and I'm obviously looking for work.

So I don't have the money myself and I simply refuse to ask my parents or friends for money, so that is not a option. I just need advice on websites, companies etc. that could hep me out. I believe the loan I'm looking for is an unsecured loan correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for reading please help!!!

unless you have an income then it's highly unlikely that anyone will lend you any money as they will no feel confident that you can repay it.
  • Some of these responses make me worried lol

I did something really foolish and totally forgot to sign the medical forms and send them to the insurance company. Now it's been over a year since my accident occured and there's little to know chance that they will accept my claim and pay the fees for me.

The doctor is a really nice man and he has been patient this whole time I'm not going to simply not pay him, he treated me after all. In his last e-mail to me he threatened to get his lawyers involved.

    Please help!

    :rotfl:Laugh ! I nearly applied for a loan at Wonga !
    Space available for rent
  • Also I already have a £1,800 interest-free overdraft on my student account with Halifax so I'm not sure if they will give me more money, I guess I could ask.

haha but.... I'm just confused now.

He's obviously angry because he's had to wait so long to be paid. I mean it's not like Peru is a rich country and the hospitals have money to throw away.

Basically i'm just guilty and i want to pay him back and i seriously cant be dealing with him calling me and having that thorn in my side for god knows how long

how hard can it be to get a couple thousand?

Considering that you have no job and next to no income, very difficult! Are you parents able to help you out? I know you don't want to ask them, but is your pride really worth an extortionate interest rate?

  • i guess I could ask my sister to help me, she has a job. maybe increase her overdraft or something I dont know. You've given me an idea at least.
