Can anyone help.
My other half and dd( age 10) are going skiing in the 1st week in January 07, They are going to La Plagne in France.
There are good deals flying to Geneva and Grenoble but then you have to get yourself to the resort.
Can anyone offer any advice about the cheapest way to do this. I am a complete novice when it comes to booking and finding these things. Not sure whether it is easier from one airport over the other.
We have been saving for over two years for this trip for them and so evrything is on a budget but then again I don't want it ruined with nightmare transport., I have looked into the option or a hire car but not sure which is the best airport to drive from.. Can't even figure out how long the drive is from each.
Hopefully there will be some travelled money saving experts that can help.

I have been to La Plagne a few times skiing but always taken the Eurostar Ski Train form Waterloo. It stops in the Alps and it's a short cab ride to the resort. Much easier than flying! If you are flying to Geneva it's only an hour to Morzine in France which is a lovely little resort.0

Hi,
there are buses from Geneva airport to La Plagne, so it's definitely better that you fly there, as it is far closer and better connected to La Plagne than Grenoble.
You can find the links to the schedules on the website of Geneva airport or of La Plagne tourist information office (https://www.la-plagne.com) where you can also ask for advice.
Please note also that the bus ride is not cheap, so if you are 3 persons it may be convenient to take a taxi to La Plagne (again ask the tourist office, they cen give you the phone number of taxi company). If you ask your hotel, probably they can give you advise about the transport from Geneva airport.0 -

it stops at Aime La Plagne but I concede it does get booked up very quickly. best thing to do is to phone them up and ask.0 -
Morzine / Les Gets is about 1h from Geneva. Rent a car - Holidayautos usually good - rent from the French side is usually cheapest. Trek through the airport to the French side though.... go through swiss immi, up the stairs, then through french immi to collect the car!
Morzine / Les Gets is a great family resort. Loads of brits have accom here so a google will find something easily. Expect to pay £400 for an appt for 4/6 for a week in the village. Consider La Turche on the outskrts of LG - though I prefer Les Gets myself.
Have a great time!0
