I appreciate that I am going to be nominated thicko of the year for asking but what is a ipod nano and touch? is a touch a phone - i thought an iphone was the phone - sorry I am an apple idiot!

I dont understand difference with iphone and touch, touch aint a phone just a fancy i pod( i think) nano is just not as fancy as touch or as expensive.

as my dad will be using it to go spain etc and wont be taking a laptop. seems a good one - found a cheaper one wth free delivery too.

No no... there are the following models:

shuffle - an mp3 player without a screen so its small and compact
nano - an mp3 player with a screen but also small and compact
classic - an ipod in the true sense of the word
touch - an ipod with a touch screen. Basically an iphone without the phone bit and the mobile connectivity (although does do wifi)
iphone - exactly what it says on the tin.
