ombudsman can help with financial complaints

I looked at the ombudsman website
http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/
and gave them a ring as I have a major problem with santander who have blocked access to my money.
I knew I have to wait until I have been through the bank's own procedures first before the ombudsman will actually look into the case. What I didn't know was that, even right at the start, the ombudsman will send out a brief letter outlining the complaint and asking the bank to look into it. They were hugely nice and helpful, and will be sending that letter for me - which will hopefully at least flag up to Santander that I am not going to give up and go away!
I thought that might be useful info for anyone else who needs to complain

Anyone who had had a final written response to a complaint, will always contain details on how to contact the ombudsman.Best Regards
