Indoor aerial for freeview...

I need an indoor TV aerial for run a DVB USB stick (I know I really need a external one but I can't get one fitted and the communal aerial socket is in a different room and I can't run a wire form it). I've been looking at Argos and there's a lot of choice!
Does anybody know whether I need one that amplifies? I currently have an old indoor aerial (basically a loop of metal) which lets me get some BBC channels, ITV play, ftm etc but not all that are available in my aera.
Does anybody have any suggestions? Especially from argos so I can go and get it today and take it back if it doesn't work!
