Tele2

My wife, bless her, has signed up at the door for Tele2.

She did this all by herself and without my knowledge. Said something about not wanting to appear as a helpless woman  and that she would try and improve our finances.

I've now got a few days grace to sort this out and either get back to Tele2 to rip the contract up or go with it if it's a reasonable company.

At the moment we're on BT Option 2 and looking at the comparison charts on here it's obvious that we can make savings. Tele2 may not be the best but they're 6 from top so can't be all that bad.

I don't want someone to say go with yet another company, just someone to say if going with Tele2 would be safe.

    OK, I won't.

Just be aware that Tele2 is not the best deal in town ..........

  • OK. First:Telecom are top of the pile on the comparison chart.

They look good, should I go with them?
  • Harriers9, I'm not sure where you are getting the comparisons from but try reading Martin's article here and then have a look at Martin's post here
    about Onetel.

First thing you need to do is change your Option2 with BT to Option1, then you will be just paying your line rental to BT at £10.50 per month paying by dd. Then consider signing up for a CPS such as Onetel, TalkTalk or Tele2 for evening and w/end UK calls free and signing for 18866 for any daytime calls you might need to make.

Welcome to MSE and I hope you manage to reduce your telephone bills substantially :)

    No, don't go to Tele2.

Stay with BT. Move down to Option 1 = Basic tariff of £10.50 per month if you pay by DD, or £11.50 per month if you don't.

Set up with Talk Talk on option 1+, link below:
    https://www.talktalk.co.uk/talktalk/servlet/gben-tariffs-Tariffs?tariff=TALK31

Then sign up with 18866.com in order to make daytime calls to UK landline at 1p per call, untimed. Plus, calls to mobile are 3p per minute on Saturdays and Sundays.

I know in the original post you said you don't want to be told to go to another company, but if you are serious about making savings then you will have to shop around.

Going with Tele2 is OK if you're prepared to accept bland and to pay more than you need to for telephone calls. It's as simple as that really.
  • tele 2 aint the cheapest but gives you £10 free credit here (not a referal!)

And, as Martin pointed out in last week's e-mail, OneTel's February LeisureUKTalk offer gives you £20
