Judges describe Pickles as abusing his powers.
True to his own personal form (i have to say I have found Eric Pickles to be an odious, insidious creep of a man) he basically has shrugged his shoulders & stated that he'll simply change the law to suit his needs.
Interestingly, most (apart from Pickles & his co-workers) feel the court has made a good decision, and Pickles acted questionably at best.
As the football crowd chant goes: "you don't know what you're doing".

It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

In July 2006, a local fish and chip shop in Pickles' Brentwood Constituency launched the 'Eric Pickled Egg'. This was done without his consent and was interpreted as personal attack on his weight. The offending item was removed from the menu three weeks later. Mr. Pickles later said that the episode was 'in bad taste' and that he in fact disliked vinegar, despite his namesake.0

Bet if they had offered him all the pies he could eat, he would have reconsidered. Probably have bankrupted them though.0

Pickles constituency & home are 37 miles away from Westminster.
Because of this, he feels the need to claim a 2nd homes allowance. His reasoning? Because the commons works like clockwork, & as an MP, you are required to be there.
On Question Time, Dimbleby's response to that was "Like a job then...?"

I personally like the guy. I may not always agree with him, but, unlike most wishy-washy politicians, he speaks his mind and you know where you stand with him. There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep sea, and music in its roar: I love not man the less, but Nature more...0

Before the spending review was announced, it was stated that the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government was one of the first to have decided what his department was cutting. I could see what he'd said: "Aye, I'll cut communities and local government".0
