RBS transfer form

Hi, I hold an RBS account and have requested and received the form to stay with RBS. My question on the form is that it specifically asks which branch you want to change to, is this actually necessary or can you let them choose?

There is a branch of Nat West not far from me, so I assume it would, or should, be the closest and easiest for me.

Can anyone advise who has filled one of these in what they did? I am aware some have transferred their branches to Scotland, I am unsure if this would be necessary.

As far as I am aware, you cant choose a Natwest branch. If you want to switch to Natwest, you would have to open new accounts with them, otherwise if you want to stay with RBS, you will have to switch your account to a Scottish branch to avoid your account being taken by Satander.

You have to request a scottish branch of RBS to stay with them. AFAIK, you can't use the form to transfer the account from RBS to NatWest.

so that means I will have to research which RBS bank in scotland I want and put that on the form. has anyone any suggestions which branch from their experience?

Well Im originally from Glasgow (living in England), so I'd suggest the Glasgow City branch , but to be honest, I dont really think it really matters. I think you'll still be able to use a Natwest branch to pay in etc, but your account sort code will be a Scottish one

You cant transfer to a Natwest branch you need to transfer to a Scottish RBS branch.

However next year all natwest and rbs customers will be able to administer there current and business accounts via the post office.

On the RBS website just look at the branchs and choose one you like.

Maybe you are a fan of the Edinburgh Festival then choose one the many branchs there. Or you like skiing then near to a resort. Or golf near one of the few golf courses.
