What will the mortgage rate be this time next year?

I'm going for exactly the same as now 0.5%.

I think we will get a little bonus soon and rates will drop to 0.25% but rise back to peak 0.5% again shortly afterwards. :)

I think it will be at least 5 years before rates rise more than 1%.

It really is time to sit back and enjoy.

I am not convinced there is a "natural rate" of interest that some people seem to believe interest rates are due to return to at some point in the near future.
  • 1.5% is my prediction.

Probably the same, and Merv will be wheeled out to state the same old line "we expect inflation to reduce in line with our target within the next year" - or in other words, "were completely ignoring inflation, but we have to say something".

I think pressure from the Govt will keep rates low - probably only around 1% max. Any higher and it would be suicide for them given how many people will be tipped over the edge by minute rises....

I think 0.75%. Still i'm too risk adverse for a tracker so it doesn't really matter to me
