Continental Airlines Airpass Miles

Hi, most times we fly to usa using Continental. Simply because they go direct from Glasgow (or EDI) to Newark. The only way I've been able to accumulate miles is by actually flying...plus a little from doing online surveys. The credit cards awards and store spending etc can only be had in USA or Canada or some Carribean countries. Any UK resident out there regular with Continental? and know better than me how to get miles on my account?
Thanks
Thanks

I have collected around 44000 miles due to staying in Holiday Inn's here through Priority Club. (convert points to miles)
I travel with my job and spend at least 2 nights a week in hotels here.
Hope this is helpful.

Can you not join Diamond Club from BMI. Im sure you can use their points for Continental flights as they are part of "Star Alliance" and you are getting 20000/ 24000 points for spending £250 on their Amex or Amex+ card http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/airline-credit-cards#bmi
You could maybe use your continental miles for 1 seat + Bmi miles for another.0 -
Thanks Stevie. Retired now. Hotel stays seriously curtailed.0

Thanks Jim, BMI Amex Card winging it's way to Scotland. Still think Continental could do a lot more for UK customers. I've told them that of course...but !!!!ing in the wind methinks.0
