teenage birthday sleepover: sleepover pillowcases

saw some sleepover pillowcases on U.S. sites and Ebay but they seem expensive...... between about £8-15 depending on design
Thought I could buy some cheap pillowcases or baggy white t-shirts, some permanent Sharpie pens (seem cheaper than fabric pens) and let girls design and colour them in themselves.
Question is will the designs run when the pillowcases are washed? If anyone has anyone tried this or has any top tips all suggestions are welcomed:) x

I don't know about Sharpies - but you can buy specific pens for writing on cloth so I'd check at your local craft storeDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

A quick google says that a normal sharpie is waterproof and can be washed cold but may show signs of fading after repeat washes. I would be worried about any pen going through the pillow case to the pillow tho.House saving Targets:

ummm forgot to mention that you should also give each person a piece of card to put inside the pillowcase/t-shirt before they do any designing! Have saved some a4 sheets that came with M&S delivery recently.0
