MA in Education - any help available with fees?

Evening peeps - don't post on this board often and did do a forum search first but couldn't find anything so forgive me if this has already been asked and answered......
My partner is currently a part time lecturer in education but does not have a masters or phd. This puts him at somewhat of a disadvantage when it comes to full time posts with potential for progression so he's looking into doing his masters and has approached his college for funding. However, thats not looking good at the mo so without the MA he's a bit stuck career movement wise.
Does anyone know if there are any grants out there that might help him to do the MA in Ed.? And do you know if my salary would be taken into account as we live together - it's a complex situation as we are both currently going through divorce proceedings (and no howls please, we got together after we'd split from our respective exes
) and on paper I'm on a very good wage but have walked away from my marriage with considerable debt. On the other hand, he is on what would qualify easily as low income so how the grant givers would view income would be crucial...........
Apologies to all, this seems to have turned into a bit of a missive!!! Any help or advice would be most welcome, or any links to organisations would be great. I've been on directgov and looked at the links there but I don't think any of those would be any good (we'd rather he had a grant than a CD loan as repayments would be difficult you see).
MTIA for your help!!!

Is your husband a member of any Societies for his subject? I'm thinking of things like the Philosophy of Education Society of Great Britain - if you've been a member for a year then you can apply for both small (around £750) and large grants which can be used to fund further study (although of course it would probably have to be in that field). It might be worth looking round to see if there are any societies for your husband's field, as their grant giving criteria may be different.0

There's very little funding for postgraduate degree, most people who want to do one take out a Personal Career Development Loan.
When you say he's a lecturer in Education, do you mean he's teaching on BEds/PGCEs?0
