Alliance & Leicester/Santander and Paypal

Please help...I'm yet another one who is now having Paypal troubles after the switch. I had the email saying that Paypal had received notification that my bank account had closed ( it hadn't) I rang A&L and they said they were aware of the problems with this but I had to contact Paypal to sort it out . I have tried to re register both my current accounts ( joint and single ) with Paypal and It says the 2 deposits have been made to my current accounts on the Paypal account info. ( for me to confirm my account) Nothing is showing on my Santander statements about these deposits..what now?
I need to withdraw some money from my paypal account but am worried it gets lost in the system :( Can I do it without my account being verified? Has anyone else had this problem and how has it been solved ?
Thanks in advance :)

I had this problem, and I just went through the verification process again. The amounts showed up in my A&L account and I completed the verification.

But I will be closing my Abbey/Santander and A&L/Santander accounts this week, so will have to go through the rigmarole yet again with Paypal!:(

The same thing happened to me. I re-registered my bank account with the new sort code and I think it was 5 working days before the two amounts appeared. It could well be taking longer now as a result of the large number of people who have undoubtedly been affected by this.

As to withdrawing money from an unverified account, it is possible but there are apparently limits placed on how much you can send/deposit/withdraw. Typically, I cant find any info on the paypal site as to what these limits are, it just says you can get them removed by completing the verification process.
  • had probs with this also before they saying the dd was cancelled
just did verification process again and no probs :)
