Companies who don't answer emails

I get so cross when I send off an email and I am ignored.
Royal Mail send a standard reply if you complain about anything and expect you to phone if you want to take it further. If you email again, they ignore you completely.
Asda Home Shopping are supposed to respond to emails within 2 hours, but a week later I'm still waiting. I know if I phone I'll get an answer but I'm not hearing too well at the moment, plus it costs money, and anyway why should I get an inferior service if I choose one of their advertised contact methods in preference to another?
I emailed Calgon because their tablets don't dissolve in my washing machine unless I bash 'em to bits first. No response.
I've emailed a hotel in France asking if they've got vacancies, and they've ignored me. Again I could phone but if they want my business they need to answer, just as they would if I phoned. I even wrote the email in French, which is a courtesy I'd struggle to pay them if I phoned!
Grrrr. Rant over. For now ...

the usual problem is that you can preview every customer's email before dealing with it!
this has been the same at 2 previous companies i have worked
the complaints rarely get picked up cos they take longer to do (and usually staff have to clear so many queries each hour)
its a vicious circle because everyone thinks "well if noone else has taken that one Im not going to do it"
terrible customer service !!!
but i agree - its really really annoying when you dont get a reply or just a standard reply !!!0 -
Debenhams don't appear to respond to e-mails. Drives me nuts.
But ...
I replied to an automated mail from FigLeaves(felt sooo stupid), but guess what? I received a mail back saying that the mail they'd sent was an automated mail and wouldn't be replied to!!
They'd replied to something they don't reply to0 -
Had trouble with Northern Rock during my re-mortgage could not get any response. Found this site which lists top bods details. Dropped them a stern email, got a call the next with the offer to get the re-mortgage sorted ASAP and £200 off the fees!
