Im not exactly sure what a broker is.. Ive tried Adrian Flux and they said £6000 I think they're brokers?

I know Romford isnt the best of areas but I dont live in central Romford my road is actually very quite.. The car is a Ford Fiesta 1999 16v, 5 Door Ghia. V reg. I bought it for £650.

I value the car for about £700 but ive tweaked this and even at £1000 it doesnt change the price.

My son was also tearing his hair out for his car insurance and tried insurethebox where he got a very reasonable quote. Sally

Are there any car companies offering free insurance on new cars? (BMW are offering cheap insurance on new Minis)

I'm thinking you could buy a brand new car on Finance (minimum deposit), use your (£4k?) savings to pay the monthly charges, then hand the car back at the end of the three years without paying the Balloon payment at the end. Could work out cheaper than 4k to insure an old banger of a car that could go wrong on week 1 and you have no cash left to repair it!

  • Hmm bit of an odd one..

Looking to take a new policy out for my second year of driving.

But when I get through the quote system they ask this:

"How many years have the proposer and any named drivers been claims-free? *"

Now does that mean I put 5+ years in the drop down box because i've not claimed and neither has my named driver claimed (for more than five years)?

Such a grey area, as they ask for the NCB discount seperately.
  • Not sure if this has been said, my son 17 just passed his test and brought a seat 999cc, we were getting quotes for over 4k, then we found insurethebox, by having a box fitted his insurance went down to 3k, I am happy with the box as feel it will put him off speeding,
