LONDON, Oct 27 - Britain's economic growth during the second and third quarters of this year has been surprisingly strong, Bank of England Deputy Governor Charles Bean said on Wednesday.
Britain's economy grew twice as fast as analysts had expected in the third quarter, data showed on Tuesday, leading analysts to argue that the central bank would not expand its 200 billion pounds quantitative easing programme any time soon.
"The last two quarters have been somewhat stronger than one might have expected," Bean said at an event in London.
