Help me understand my employee's dilema

Bit depressed the raise I wangled has turned out so badly from my side - had to negotiate a bit for her, and my thanks is losing her a few more hours or week or maybe losing her totally if I can't do it. *Sigh*. It's a problem being the boss sometimes, can't do right for doing wrong
Dont be, you sound like a great boss - in the current climate most people would be thrilled with such a good payrise.
TBH, i'd be more disappointed in the staff member, turning down a good payrise as you would rather tax payers supported you is very wrong.0 -

Then just say no, say she can go back down to her wage before if she wishes but she is required to work full time
Family friendly should not be at a cost of business and if you did not need her then you would not have given her a raise in the first place to keep herThe Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
