i need to do a very big shop ,and was wondering what shop you think will be cheapest?

Asda will be cheapest, but Tesco own brand is much better quality IMO.

ASDA is consistently cheaper than the other main players according to the CH4 programme What Goes in your Basket.

In my opinion ASDA staff are better trained and more courteous than Tesco staff.

Not always, when I go through mysupermarket my basket is always cheaper from Tesco. It all depends on exactly what you are buying, not what a TV show is buying.

i reckon asda is the cheapest, but theres a couple of things that i do prefer from tesco=depends what your buying

i always end up spending much more on a shop in asda then i do in tesco.

I think Asda, but ideally shop at both and cherry pick the best prices.

It's how long is a piece of string really, isn't it? As other posters have said, it depends on what's on your shopping list and personal preferences. I'm lucky enough to live quite near to several branches of Tesco, Asda, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Netto, Lidl and Aldi and I go to all of them at different times. I have certain personal preferences eg Asda own bread, Morrisons cheese, Tesco tea bags, so when I want those particular items I buy other stuff there at the same time. I think Sainsburys is pretty expensive and don't buy much there, but as I have to pass it to get to Asda it's no trouble to nip in for a look for special offers/sell-by date reductions. Sorry - I'm no help at all!
