Do we really need a credit card ?

I accept they can help rebuild credit, etc

But i now pay off my balance each month, How should i be using a credit card to its full potential?
I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.

Depending on which card you have (I use Egg Money) you could use it to get cash back on all your purchases and you also have a fall back if you pay more than £100 and the company goes into liquidation. I am sure there are many other reasons.

Hello Andy, I have a credit card and have just paid this off :) i have 2 more to go then credit card debt free, this represents a major outlay each month so the faster i get rid the better.

Just been on to the beeb website and apacs have confirmed that credit card spending is being replaced with debit cards,so that must include most of us on this board :),so it seems we dont really need or depend on our flexible friends these days :) with regards Credit cards.

Also seems like this country has a had a massive Lightbulb moment to me which is a fantastic thing in itself, just my 2 penneth worth. :)

    Regards M

    Slow-stoozing

    Fast-stoozing

But above all, use the card at least once a month to develop and maintain a history of good credit repayment.

Britain's £56bn credit card debt (and growing), coupled with the fact that an estimated 75% of borrowers are paying credit card interest would seem to indicate otherwise.

With 2005 personal bankruptcies up 45%, and over 100,000 more expected in 2006, it's not before time!
