Has anybody been?
Looking to go for their christmas market but am struggling to find best information on best airport to use, and then follow on transport from there.
any help much appreciated!

Monschau is a small place and I imagine there won't be much to do or see other than the Christmas market (which, I suspect, is not terribly big either). The closest airports would be Cologne (CGN), from where there will be train connections (if painful) or Luxemburg.
If you opt for Cologne itself, or Nuremberg or Munich, you will have easier access, larger markets and a greater choice of other activities and sights.0
