Random trolley question

Hi all,
This may seem like a really odd question, but here goes. Does Lidl have trollies that seat 2 children? I have a 2 year old and a 7 month old, and have been going to Tesco over anywhere else because of the vast range of trollies that they have. (Our local Morrisons, for example, only has 1 of each type of child trolley).
I want to start shopping back at Lidl, but this will only be possible if their trollies are any good!
Also, as an aside, is Lidl really cheaper than Tesco, or does the whole experience just feel cheaper even though you don't actually spend any less?

In my experience, the biggest problem with Lidl trolleys is that they don't have safety straps. I think the trolleys only have seating for 1 child also. I did query the lack of straps with the manager of my local store and they said it wasn't cost-effective for them to bring in specialised trolleys. It is very difficult to shop with even one child in a trolley with no straps. I found I could only do it by holding on to the wee one with one hand, and using the other to do everything else.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

One child seat at my local, could you leave them with someone else or strap the little one to you? Lidl's are all quite small. If you shop smart, taking advantage of special offers(check online on a monday or sign up to a newsletter) and buying certain products you could save a lot. That's what I do and I save 20-40% each shop compared to buying the same quality from Mr A, Mr S, Mr W, Iceland & Budgens(i only have a small tesco near me).
Some sort of bacon, fruit juice(50-60p 1.5l), good cheddar, branded fizzy pop, cabbage, seasonal veg, frozen pizza, multipack/big bag crisps, fresh meat(20-30%) and branded cleaning product are on good offers every week.
1kg of carrots is 45p vs 70p elsewhere
limited range of organic veg but cheaper than Mr S
broccoli 50p vs £1
waffles, part bake bread, pitas are cheaper but sliced/rolls are similar
jam and sweet spreads are cheap and taste better than higher priced Mr S
oats are 39p per 500g, by far the cheapest i've seen and very nice
tinned toms 41p with really good herbs/onion+garlic/chilli/basil, comparable to napolina imo. plain tinned toms are ~33p, better than Mr S/A basics
McV biccies are 1/3 cheaper than at budgens/Mr S last time I checked
tinned salmon- get a big tin for the price of a small tin elsewhere
bacon is cheaper and tasty even when not on offer
mum tells me the gammon steaks are delicious £1.59 for two big ones
excellent bread flour 60p 1.5kg
stewing steak is lean, cheaper than Iceland, tastier than Mr S
cheapest soy milk,
cheese(hard & soft) is very cheap and there's always one cheddar on offer
yoghurts are cheap
brand sweets/choc/pop/JUNK 10-20% cheaper
cheap own brand toiletries, random brands on offer
and imo they do the thickest cheapo loo roll of anywhere
I understand that's quite a list and I am quite the Lidl enthusiast, but that's because it's awesome! Buy the same thing cheaper, great weekly offers, good quality european products- what more could you want?Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -

Most of the time even the safety straps provided in trollies are broken or tangled, also just a lap belt isn't very secure. I used to carry a set of webbing walking reins + chest harness with me and wrap the long tail of the reins in and around the back of the seat to strap my young Houdinis in. There was no possible way they could wriggle out of this arrangement, unlike a lap strap.Val.0 -
littly in a carrier and let the big un walk and 'help' - aldi/ lidl are generally much smaller than mainstream supermarkets and with less to 'browse'/ tempt you to spend more shopping is not only cheaper its quicker tooPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.
