What would people advise for a day out and staying in a hotel out of the above?
We are tempted by both but would love suggestions.
Any nice suggestions for around the £100 mark for a decent double room at a hotel/B&B aswell and sights to see?
Thank you :j

They both have advantages and are nice places to go. To recommend one or the other would be impossible. Why not do one now and one another time. In terms of hotels, pick one in your price bracket and then look on Tripadvisor for reviews.0

I went to Bath for a couple of nights last year and though it was a lovely place I wouldn't recommend it.
We stayed in the Hilton Hotel and had issues with the cleanliness of the room, plus during the first night our car was vandalised in the car park underneath the hotel that the Hilton shares with the adjacent shopping mall. The windscreen was smashed and both sides of the car severely scratched.
On the second night, we were walking back from a restaurant in the centre of town to the hotel and were mugged by a guy with a knife. It was only around 10pm and there were loads of people about, but it didn't seem to put him off.
So all in all, I wouldn't recommend Bath. In fact it's a dirty word in our house now and is never mentioned...0 -
I used to live in York & is a beautiful City. Depending on what time of the week you are planning to go I would probably try to avoid staying in the Mickelgate area Thursday - Saturday is when people do the Mickelgate Run. Loads & loads of pubs, bars etc
Quite a few nice Guests Houses down by Museum Gardens which is V close to city centre and of course loads towrds the racecourse which is about 1/2 mile outside city wallsPrivate Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA0
