New Years Eve @ Butlins

Has anyone been to Butlins on NYE? What's it like? Is it worth the money?

We are wanting to go away for NYE, somewhere with entertainment and bit of atmosphere, we will be taking the two kids too so thought Butlins would be the best:beer:

Depends what Butlins you intend on going to, I went to Skegness around 2 years ago and lets just say I will never be back.
There was 14 of us altogether including all the kids, the food was revolting - so bad that if you do go, go self catering and eat out at Burger King or Papa Johns.
The bouncers waited until 4 of the adults were drunk and jumped them when they came out of the pub, they all ended up in the cells for the night and they tried to charge them! But then the CCTV was requested...ended up the bouncers just jumped them as soon as they left the place for no reason! This pub was on their site!!! I really cant believe it and will never go to Butlins again...a complaint was made to them and since had no response!

We've been to Butlins several times and always found the food to be fine and I must be one of the most fussiest eaters out there. Theres always plenty of variety, food was always hot, meals tasted nice. Granted Ive never stayed over xmas/new year but have stayed during peak times.
Cant comment on the bouncers bit, but when we have stayed here weve never witnessed any aggro.
  • Hi there, I have been to Butlins Minehead for the NYE 3 day break. It was ok, the kids were about 9 and 10 and they loved it. It was REALLY busy though - it usually sells out for NYE. People began queing for the venues about 2 in the afternoon on NYE but the doors didnt open til 7! They check all bags going in for alcohol and are not very friendly about it.The bouncers are brusque to say the least. The drinks are overpriced but then they always are.
I went with a crowd and overall enjoyed it, but think that was more about the company than the place......
