What do you all think?

I am Planning on asking my GF to marry me when we go away on holiday soon.
This is not my usual screen name because I just dont want to have the chance of her seeing it.

What you you girls think of this proposal idea?

If I get someone at the hotel we are staying at to layout rose petals on the bed to spell out "will you marry me" (or something shorter)
Then I can get them to do that when we go out for a meal then when we come back to the hotel I will make sure she walks in to the room first and as she sees that I can be behind her with the ring on one knee.

So anyone think its a good idea? I was thinking about somewhere more public but I think the place I had in mind would be too cheesy.

I dunno. You're relying on someone you don't know to get something pretty big right for you. Plus, the air con might come on and blow them about. It's romantic and a lovely idea. Just thinking practically.

yes I can see what you mean about letting someone else do it but I cant think of another way to do it without using a member of hotel staff.

I guess the aircon could be a problem, but I would doubt it would be that strong.

I think its a beautiful idea. I'd ask a member of the hotel staff and make sure you write down what you want.

If you are staying abroad could you use sea shells instead? would solve the aircon problem

I think that is a lovely idea,very romantic.I'm not keen on public proposals,I like it to be more intimate with just the 2 of you.
I'm sure whatever you decide it will be more romantic than my DH's proposal,I was sat on a filthy swivell chair in the stockroom full of boxes,he came in,spun me round,said 'I love you,will you marry me' I was screaming at the force of the spinning,said 'yes' then promptly fell off the chair into the boxes,boss came in and thought it best not to take any action.
