Viridian shares

I have 80 shares with Viridian, have been wondering what to do with them. In view of the takeover bid in the offing should I sell or hold on to them?

I bought 100 shares when they were orignally floated as NIES shares. Have no idea of share dealing, or whats involved at all. I'd welcome any information thankyou

    Hi, elliehenny,

The shares are trading at a little under the acquisition price. If you sell you will not get the final dividend of 11p per share, and you will incur costs needlessly. If you hold on you will receive payment for the shares without having to sell them.

If you sell the shares now, you will need to pay dealing costs.

As such, unless you need the money now for any reason, hold on to the shares and you will eventually get £1068.80 (made up of a) a dividend of £8.80 and b) £1060 for the shares)

There is no need to do anything now and you will not be charged anything for 'selling' your shares to the buyer of the company.

Just be prepared for a lot of paperwork to drop through your letterbox asking you to vote on the deal and at some stage you will be asked to send your share certificate in..

    Regards
