Char sui (chinese pork) in supermarket?

Hi, I am making Chicken Fried Rice on my meal plan this week but hoping to liven it up a little by adding some Char sui.

Do any of the supermarket deli counters have it ready made? (Dont want to buy joint of pork just for the little bit I will use in the fried rice)

Thanks

I've never seen it ready made at a deli but if you live near an Asian supermarket you could ask them. Anywhere that has ducks hanging in the window is cooking meat in that style :)

Alternatively, the sauce the pork is cooked in is simple to make and could probably be frozen in little quantities to use another time:
    • 1/2 cup sherry
    • 2/3 cup hoisin sauce
    • 2/3 cup soy sauce
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 4 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 teaspoons black bean paste
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon Chinese 5-spice powder
    • 1 teaspoon salt
