Christmas flight cancellations

They keep saying they won't reroute us. They only want to offer the same route on different days or cancellation.

We want to maximise the time in NY, so coming back a day early, while doable isn't really want we want. Costs of flying out there being what they are.

Have you checked out alternative routes to get you back 25/12?
Do you know how much alternative tickets will cost?

Be proactive, look at what I posted in my earlier reply. Look at the advice in Cityboy's thread. You can be a victim or you can stand up for your rights and challenge AF. You are entitled to re-routing, and if they won't pay - sue.

Gone back and pointed out there is a Flybe 4044 flight which has exactly the same details as the cancelled AF flight (same take off and arrival time for the 25th - weird). They have tried to book us on that, it says there are seats, but when they go to book using the KLM system it says they are on the waiting list. They cannot confirm the booking until tomorrow.

The flybe flight doesn't exist. Another own goal by Expedia.

No other alternatives from AF.
