Christmas flight cancellations

They keep saying they won't reroute us. They only want to offer the same route on different days or cancellation.
We want to maximise the time in NY, so coming back a day early, while doable isn't really want we want. Costs of flying out there being what they are.0 -
Spoke to AF. The initial person I spoke to seemed quite helpful and said he would look at alternative routes and call me back. After I there was no call I then called them again. Second person I spoke to was much less heplful and said I could cancel and get a refund or change the dates, as already advised, but they would not reroute.
So looks like we will have to cancel the whole holiday and try to book somewhere else, no doubt at extra cost and inconvenience to us. Many thanks AF and Expedia. Nice Christmas present.
Have you checked out alternative routes to get you back 25/12?
Do you know how much alternative tickets will cost?
Be proactive, look at what I posted in my earlier reply. Look at the advice in Cityboy's thread. You can be a victim or you can stand up for your rights and challenge AF. You are entitled to re-routing, and if they won't pay - sue.0 -

Gone back and pointed out there is a Flybe 4044 flight which has exactly the same details as the cancelled AF flight (same take off and arrival time for the 25th - weird). They have tried to book us on that, it says there are seats, but when they go to book using the KLM system it says they are on the waiting list. They cannot confirm the booking until tomorrow.0 -
The flybe flight doesn't exist. Another own goal by Expedia.
No other alternatives from AF.0
