Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, etc Xmas jobs-where the hell do you apply for them???!

Hi guys/gals-I'd quite like to do some Xmas work for the above....either I'm being VERY thick or i can't see any specific places to apply/register for Xmas vacancies.....any ideas?

Hi Cally....thanks for the reply! Yes-have looked at websites but nothing comes up for Xmas work specifically....I wondered if there was a separate site for these? Or maybe they're not advertising yet?

Bring back the eighties....where you could pop your tie on...bob down to local store & more or less get an interview straight away!

Is it the best approach to go to local stores & apply? Sorry to sound so thick....I'm a bit out of practice with all this.....but would have though thay'd be looking around nowish for staff??

yup....next time I'm there will do that. Just find it a bit odd that there is not any mention of xmas jobs on websites/or a specific site to go to?

My local Tesco store has a massive sign outside saying that they are now recruiting xmas staff.

The sign says to collect application form instore.

Do you have a tesco near you ?

Our Argos also has a sign up looking for xmas staff , same thing , ask instore for an application form.

you can print an application form for tesco from the site but not sure if the form for regular jobs would be the same for xmas staff

for argos you go in store,

for sainsburys im guessing it would be via the js recruitment section

for asda i think its in store

You may be too late for some stores. I know that the local job centre here held a huge recruitment day for Xmas workers for various stores first Sat in September.

Also I know that my 3 main Tesco's don't advertise for xmas temp staff, they are filled through friends&family of staff members instead.

But as others have said ask instore. Good luck

I know some xmas jobs were advertised on direct.gov, eg game, grotto helper and a think a christmas temp shop selling gifts etc but might differ from 1 area to another

I would ask instore, although I know in my local sainsburys at home it tends to be returning students who've worked there before - and they've already asked us whose coming back!
