Volunteering holiday - suggestions please

My partner and I are of limited financial means, and enjoy volunteer work locally.

We currently have time on our hands to be able to combine some travel with volunteering, something we've wanted to do for a long time. Neither of us is professionally qualified, but have got skills we can offer. We're interested in UK and international work, but not in very hot climates at the time of visiting! I'm well travelled in Europe, but not internationally, my partner hasn't travelled much as yet.

I'm overwhelmed with trying to wade through a wealth of info on the net! Can anyone suggest reliable and realistic resources we can look into? This is the first day of looking into our idea, so be gentle lol

Have a look at this http://www.wwoof.org.uk/ Friends have a small place here in France and sometimes have wwoofas to help. Many have done it for years and travelled a lot. The great thing is you choose where to go and for how long. Don't forget insurance.
