Have a Philips Blu-ray player BDP2500 - have played discs before fine. Have rented Death @ a funeral from blockbuster and here lies the problem....
Disc loads and disc clips play and under that is the options for Play Movie, Languages, scene selections, special features etc... The screen on DVD reads TOPMENU (never seen this before) cant play the film, cant scroll anywhere and have already swapped the film with blockbuster once.
Can anyone shed any light here at all plz?

You may need to update the firmware of the player. You'll need to go to the Phillips Support site.
I had a quick look and can confirm there is a firmware update available for your model but I have no idea how you update the player. I guess somewhere in your instruction book there must be a guide as to how to update the firmware.0 -
As above, first thing that springs to mind is a firmware update required (probably to encompass the disc protection employed).Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0

There are instructions in pdf format above the download link. Looks like you download the zip file to your pc, extract to a USB stick, insert into the Blu-ray player & navigate the menu on the player to start updating the firmware.
