help please - travelex cash passport

Hi, i am going away tomorrow to Tenerife and want to order currency to collect at the Airport at Travelex.

I did intend to get all cash but then noticed the travelex cash passport.

I found detail somewhere on this site where Martin suggested ensuring that when i select to buy it now on the Travelex website to make sure it is GBP to avoid more charges in exchange rates etc, however, i am a little confused... not sure if i'm just reading too much in to it, it seems to take me straight away to selecting what currency i require - do i need to select GBP here and then when i use the card when i am on holiday it will automatically do the exchange or do i actually need to select Euros so that when i load cash it is then ready to use??

I would appreciate clarification please. Thanks in advance.

That is where the confusion is... there are 2 types, i have been looking at the Cash Passport Currency Card!! That explains it as what has been quoted on here is the Cash Passport Globe Card. I think the Currency Card is probably best in my case as i mainly want it to withdraw cash as it will work out cheaper than my debit card i think.

There is no confusion.....you are just ignoring the advice given.
  • Following the collapse of Crown Currency, I am now a bit twitchy about the Travelex Cash Passport. Is this covered by the FSCS compenstaion scheme, if Travelex go under? I have a lot of money on a Euro cash passport which I have been building up over the months. Hope there isn't a problem. Thanks
