I require a £2,000 loan over 1 or two year to sort my finances out, as I stupidly went on holiday and came back with no money and missed my credit card payments.
I have poor credit rating, following going into overdrafts etc with university and was looking for a loan. I have seen the bad stories on here about the yesloans etc and wanted to know could someone point me in the right direction for people with bad credit to get a loan.
I dont own my house but have a job with £25k salary, I have a appointment with my bank tomorrow (alliance and leicester) to try and get one but I am not hopefull and its driving me mad as the credit card company is chasing me for £200 which I dont have.
Please HELP!

You could truy Nationwide, They seem to base it more on your earnings and outgoings.
I have just had a loan with them and it is a resonable interest rate.
I just had to send proof of wages when I was accepted, it was quick, was in bank within 7 days.0 -
Well TBH, your bank is your only chance. If you have missed/late payments particularly recently, you will have no chance in my opinon of getting a loan elsewhere.
If you're earning £25k and need at least a year to raise £2k, then you're living a lifestyle you simply cannot afford.
I would be more inclined to post up a SOA (statement of affairs) over on the debt free wanabee section of the board and allow members to give support/advice on how you might be able to reduce outgoings/increase incomings to clear your debt, without taken out further credit.0 -
With a poor credit history any loan you would get (if you could get one) is likely to be at a high interest rate.
What do you need the £2k for? is it to pay off your credit card? or is just £200 of it for that?
If its only for card repayments then as you have already missed payments and have arrears then rather than try to take out a loan you could instead consider writing to them to explain your financial position and ask to pay the arrears off in installments. If you then keep up with all future payments this option may cost you far less overall in interest etc.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
thanks a lot for your help, I have been living beyond my means the last couple of months and was stupid going on lots of holidays this year. Anyway I need £200 for my credit card and £200 for a agreement i had to cut my student overdraft (only a couple of payments left)
Anyway I cant afford these at present and thought getting a £2k loan would be a good way of just putting all my eggs in one basket so to speak. I.e pay off all my creditcard debt and the rest of the back account to close it. They just pay the loan back every month0 -
If your own bank won't lend then you will probably struggle.
Whatever you do don't pay anyone am upfront fee to find you a loan, and don't give out bank details to anyone who say they need them in order to make an application.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I wont be paying anything up front I got that from all the horrible stories on here.
If I cant get a loan with the bank I dont seriously know what I am going to do.
Lesson learnt dont ever bury your head in the sand.0
