I used to have home insurance with Barclays and at the same tim i had an additions plus account which we use fully. To cut a story short we cancelled it as we got a cheaper deal last year ( trying to get us back).
They made a mistake as extra charges was put onto h/insurance ( they didn't think about additions)
Cheque arrived £105.00 inclusive of what i think is 2% interest as if it was PPI.
Think they are checking everything and trying to give themselves a better image,

Not much explanation, facts and figures sounds weird to me?

Should i accept this offer, if they have made a mistake would i have to pay it back or could i even be owed more

    Hi there

Have you requested for a detailed written breakdown on the accounts?

Maybe this way you will know what mistake they have made, you can then let them know where they have gone wrong perhaps.;)

  • Hiya Di,
No, just got the cheque, money short at the moment and everything seems to have gone wrong ie plumbung you name it. So sorry been away a while. I will try and ring them today to see whats happened as i knew nothing about this. Would it be worth asking how far back they have gone as i must of had the houe insurance quite a while as i only changed last year? Not sure if this would work like PPI, even a gesture of good will included.
I would like to thank you for all the help/advise you have given me for several thing, ta hun

Hi, hope your well, seems like you've had lots of hassle then?
Its either all or none isn't it? things go wrong at the same time.

Yes, I would write a quick letter, ask them for a breakdown of the account, this should show how far back they have gone the same time.

    And your very welcome.:)X
