No Claims Discount Problem
I have been insured for car insurance via a business policy with my company for the past 3 years and am now looking to get personal insurance on my car again and scraping the business cover.
When being asked about my years of no claims I am confused about what I should be putting? I haven't had a claim as my fault in 6 (perhaps more) years but how do I prove this?
The last three years the business policy had 2 claims but none against the car I have been using, before that I had a personal policy and I had 2 claims in 3 years that were both the other parties fault (paid for by them).
Have I lost my no claims taking on the business insurance and how far back are you able to track your no claims from previous insurers?
Has anyone experienced this problem as well and if so how many years should I be putting down as no claims?
Thanks for your help.

No claims discount can be transfered from a business policy to your private most of them time. Each insurance company got their own rules. When getting a quote simply ask if they will accept NCD from your company. Insurance company may ask for proof in a form of letter from your employer.
For every year of having car insurance you earn 1 year of NCD (no claims discount) providing you have not had any fault claims or non fault claims which were not fully recovered.
Forget what cars you were driving in your company, the NCD relates to you as a driver.
Providing are claim free then there should be no problems of using your 3 years of NCD.:: No unapproved links in signatures please - MSE Forum Team ::0
