Obtaining Creditors List

My husband and i are looking at declairing bankruptcy. I am assuming i will need to list all our creditors we owe with up to date amounts.
Does anyone know if i can obtain these details without writing to each individual one?

Also i have been told there is a way to declaire bankruptcy and spread the court costs, is this true and do we need to ask the court directly to consider this?

  • Hi,

I got a copy of my credit report which should list all of your credit agreements, I did call them to find out the outstanding balance. The credit report does tend to show alotof the balances however, these might not be quite up to date.

I would say it is best to do as much leg work yourself so you have lots of information on the forms, if you do go BR the OR interview will be alot easier and quicker for you.

Alot of people stop paying their debts and save for the BR fee there will be a certain amount of phone call ignoring if you do that.

I am unsure of any other ways to spread the cost although Ive heard of some companies offering to spread the payments and charge silly amounts for filling in a form most of us have done here for free - with a little help from each other :), I am sure others will be able to advise if there are other ways. A call to one of the debt charities like National Debt Line or CCCS might be able to offer further advice on that.

    Good luck x
  • Sadly NO way of spreading court costs in bankuptcy you may be exempt from the £150 court fees BUT you still have to pay the £450 receivers costs

you may be thinking of a debt relief order? these costs can be spread but varys different to bankruptcy
