  • There are no security issues with EMM. How it works is the password and logon details for your other banks internet accounts are stored in an encrypted file on the computer you are using. The main point here is, do not set it up on a public computer, there are slight risks if this is done.

I use EMM at work and at home and find it very useful and time saving. I'm not concerned about any security risk with it.

I use it for all my accounts and have no worries about security.

I've used it for over a year (originally signed up for it as they were giving away 15 quid for doing it, now use it all the time - much easier than logging into accounts individually!). As #2 said the passwords are stored encrypted on your own PC (you have to re-enter your details on each PC you use), I don't know how strong the encryption is so would probably change passwords as a matter of course if my laptop ever got stolen!

Unfortunately it now crashes everytime I log in on my laptop, I suspect it's related to me using Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3, I can still use it if I ignrore the error message but it forces IE to close when I do acknowledge it, anyone else using EMM with IE7?

it crashes on my laptop too and I am using IE6 (latest patches) so I dont think it's IE7 related :(

I've been using egg money manager since January when they were giving away money for adding an external account. I've since added all my accounts and I find it one of the most useful things I've ever had to use.
I still do log into my individual accounts occasionally just to keep my brain active with the different usernames, passwords, etc. as egg money manager makes you lazy :)
    ;) debt free...yippee

Thought I'd look into the crashing a bit further, noticed that the error was occuring in wlextension.dll, hmm 'wl', maybe the Windows Live toolbar I intalled recently (darn Quidco cashback!). Turned off the Live toolbar (didn't need to uninstall it) and bingo, EMM all happy again. So if anyone else is seeing EMM crashing and has recently installed the Live toolbar then try turning it off!
