Egypt price hyke?

Do travel agents raise the price of successful destinations deliberately.
I ask this as I have travelled to the same hotel in Egypt, SES 5 times in the last 4 years. On the last 4 visits I have seen the price for our AI X2 package rise from >£2,000, £2,200, £2,400 and £2,500. I went to book the same holiday for November yesterday and they wanted £3,000.
Therfor the price has risen 50% in 2 1/2 years (we visited it twice one year) Do they take advantage of the success of destinations or is there another reason for this massive increase.
Another thing I noticed yesterday was that as I pondered whether to accept the new price it went up 2 hours later by 2 hours. Do they adjust prices daily, hourly or as the number of rooms available falls.
Anyone else noticed this or have package holidays all gone up significantly?

Could be lots of reasons - supply/demand as a place gets more popular they can charge more, local price inflation, exchange rate changes, overhead costs, fuel, insurance, etc.
Unfortunately, once an area gets a reputation for good value holidays, it usually doesn't take long before prices catch up.0 -
There seems to be more flights to Agadir this coming winter, perhaps this is becoming popular.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Are you always booking with the same company? Maybe others are offering more competitive prices.0

Something which I saw recommended if you revisit a holiday quote and find it has risen in the few hours since you last saw it, is to delete all your cookies and then search again.
It sounds mad but we did this at work and 4 out of 5 of us got our original quotes come back up, not the higher price we had just seen!!
