Late payment = missed payment?

Hi all, I paid my visa bill one day late a few months ago (I thought online payments were instant but turns out they're not!), and got a charge on my next bill. Sorry if this is a dim question, but is this the same as a default/totally missed payment in credit score terms?
Thank you!:)

  • Not a default.

It might show up on the credit report, but perhaps not. The only way to be sure is to have a look.

If it's a first offence and you ask nicely they might refund the charge - though perhaps a bit late now given it was a few months ago.

Even if it did get reported, a single missed payment isn't anything to be worried about if everything else is in order.
