Wondering how I'll pay my mortgage

Because when I applied I wasn't sure of the actual salary - it stated a pro rata amount but the hours weren't clear so I couldn't work it out.0

MaggieD, I know this is upsetting for you but don't you see that if you don't take this job you will be worse off later on? The thing is very soon you will lose SMI if you are still on JSA, there is no getting away from it.
Even if you are struggling after you take the job at least you are in a position of looking for other work while in employment, also gaining experience and if you move on will get good referrences! On the other hand as you have young children, where would you get the hours suitable elsewhere - having the same working hours as your children are in school!
While taking the job you really need to see a solicitor to sort out that ex of yours.0 -
I am slightly confused on one point.
Is not just about paying the mortage but buying your ex out. How do you propose to do that? You will need to re-mortgage.
If you can't manage the mortgage as it stands how will you afford mortgage plus equity buy out.
Yours

I'm afraid it's too late, I had already turned it down as it wasn't the position I'd origianally applied for (someone with more experience got that) the position they offered me was working with a severely disabled child in the nursery (neither areas I have experience with)
On top of that my dad passed away two days before they offered me the job so I felt I wasn't in a position to make any important decisions as I'm having to look after my mum.
I can see how this looks like I'm making excuses, really I'm not and I am looking daily for any other positions that come up that would be what I've experience and knowledge of.0 -
OP. Where has the sudden change of circumstances come from? You state that you havn't received anything from your ex since 2001.
So you've been able to pay the mortgage for nearly 10 years but can no longer do so? Have you recently lost your job? Hence the retraining (albeit for a job you clearly had no idea about)?
From what I can gather, your only option is to sell your house as you can't afford the mortgage. Have you actually contacted your lender yet? I know you said you need to write to them, but have you done this yet?0 -
She is making all the mortgage payments at the moment, her ex is not contributing (although it is a joint mortgage) and he is not contributing to his two children. This is why she needs to seek advice from a solicitor. In the meantime she needs to take this opportunity of this job.0

Seeing that you were only posting about this a week ago, I imagine that the JCP won't have taken any action yet, although I'm sure they will. I hope you get offered other jobs although word does get round when people behave like this.0 -

Ok, so you think I should have accepted a position that I:
a) Did not apply for
b) Was working in a field I have no experience nor desire to work in
c) Did not pay enough to cover my mortgage
Not to mention my recent bereavement.
And how would the JCP know?0
