:rotfl:Eh Gringo - I don't want your stinking greenbacks no more !
Pesos only legal currency for large transactions e.g. departure tax - otherwise dollars accepted with mucho pleasure !0 -
Perhaps thomson want you to buy some high priced pesos from them0

I think thomson are trying to pull a fast one saw a website set up by someone who lives in cancun and has a bar there,he hasn't heard anything about it.Think it only affects big buisnesses so we are just taking the money we've already got.If thomson don't want it we shall spend it elsewhere!0

You will find the majority of places will accept the us dollar without fuss.0

This is correct, its not just Thomsons all travel companys have been told to inform passegners of this information.
Unless you know anyone who is there at the moment or has just come back within the past 3 days no one will be able to advise you on this.
As of September 13th Mexico is limiting the USD cash transaction. They say although it may be possible to exchange a limited amount of USD in Mexico the dollar will NOT be accepted in hotels or resorts for goods/services or purchasing excursions or paying departure tax.
Due to this the Mexican Inland Revenue recommend customers travelling to Mexico to avoid coming with dollars and to purchase Mexican Pesos so this is for everyone not just Thomson customers.New York ♥..........These street will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you.
No place in the world that can compare ♥ 2nd October 2010 ♥0
