Car Insurer asking for Employment details and copy of driving licence

My car insurer have asked for a copy of my driving licence and for written confirmation of all jobs in the last 12 months giving a few examples.

They say if they do not receive this information within 14 days they may have no option but to cancel the policy.

I think this is due to me having an accident months ago in the icy conditions, I drove into the side of a car after skidding on the ice, my car was a write off and the insurer paid out.

Since I have only 3 weeks left on this policy and my insurance broker have stated they are unable to offer me a quote, I am not sure what the reason for this could.

Are they fishing and trying to find an excuse to get the money back they paid out to me? Thank you

Is there any reason that you don't want to provide the information ?

Your problem is that if you don't, they won't offer renewal and you will then struggle to get Insurance elsewhere, unless you gave false information.

Do you really think you have any choice ?

Nb. It is possible that if you gave false information in the past, that they could take legal action to recover the claim payment.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

No reason I don't want to give this information other than I work for many agencies and my work is varied, so it will take some time to trawl through the last 12 mths, the Inland Revenue don't even want this detail! I have told the truth in past, but have done such a variety of work, which is mostly promotional, that I am worried that they might say I should have put my employment under a different category. They have asked in their example about TV and magazines. Also I have only 3 weeks left on my insurance and my broker has informed me that he cannot find a quote, so assume this means my current insurance company don't want to quote either.
