cant say i have no sorry ive got one and kept spendin up to my limit and they increased it, u need to let them make SOME money off u as clearing ure balance in full cant be letting them make any, which is more than likely a factor as to why they reduced it,

REMEMBER were only viewd as money making machines to credit card company dont let them make any money and they get upset

I have one since October 2009, pay my balance in full and they have increased my limit to £500. No, I don't believe it has anything to do with reducing your limit.

What was your original limit and what is your new limit?

How does your credit file looks like? Any recent adverse after you got the Aqua card?

i think they may have reduced the limit because they are not earning interest and also perhaps you have applied for credit over a short period of time and they have receieved some new information about your financial affairs eg.recent balance transfers

my original limit was £300, now its down to £100, so i'm £54 over my limit !!!!

i have recently paid off my Vanquis card and Santander loan, but i did just use the Aqua card to pay £250 to a debt collection agency, then paid the cash on to the card to cover it - even doing that, i have not done anything contrary to the terms and conditions, apparently there's a letter on its way to me .

think i'll just pay off the outstanding £154, close the account and never have another credit card again

ohhhhhhhh mate i would NEVER use any cards other than a pointless bank account to pay a DCA if they manually review your spending habits there going to know your paying a DCA for a DEBT you owe outstanding etc, in my eyes its always been somewhat of an UNWRITTEN rule so to speak,

that may very well have influenced it

    hey "new age thing"

do you think thats why then ?? the DCA bit i mean - i never even thought of that, well i guess i'll know when the letter arrives.

feels like the whole financial world is against me at the mo - but as the other half says, things can only get better !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

many people would more than likely disagree with me mate thats why in my eyes its always been an unwritten rule

but say your workin in aqua and doing manual reviews of certain accounts would u take notice if a customer was paying large amounts to a DCA? i know i would and id be like oh he must have "other" debts

anyways my opinion mate and im sure others will disagree

but ive always acted in that manner any kind of "dodgy debts" are paid throgh p!ssy accounts ive no real interest in

Strange. That is a very low limit so the only alternative I can think of is some adverse in your credit file. Why don't you get a copy of it from Experian and Equifax?

I do not believe that using the card to pay a DCA is the reason for them to reduce your credit limit. However if you paid a DCA then it means you have a debt, probably a default. In that case it will show up in your credit file.

ye it was an old current account overdraft that i had with HSBC which they then passed to their debt collection agency - without telling me i might add!!!! - and appeared as a default on my credit report last month, thats probably it then i expect.

seems that no matter how hard i try to improve my credit rating etc... i am always being knocked back ! i am so !!!!ed off with it all !!

Yeah I think that they reduced your credit limit due to the recent adverse and paying the debt collection agency with your credit card however 300 pounds is a very low limit so there is not much risk there.
