  • Just typed in my postcode on pc world site showed in stock for home delivery or collect at store then when it came time to add to basket it was not available at any stores up to 30 miles away and did not give me the option to have home delivery. Rang pc world spoke to a very nice man who told me they have none of these tvs left in their warehouse at all but you might find an odd one at a store! good luck to anyone who gets one

Funny that as it says Hyundai on the actual tv on PCW, Currys and Dixons.

    Not unusual at all actually.

There are only around 5 manufacturers of LCD panels in the world, and it is very common for a manufacturer to sell their entire component, and allow another manufacturer to stick their label on it. Who do you think makes all these generic 'brands' that currys et al sell?

The Phillips Co, is an excellent example.

I wouldn't touch a Hyundai again after all the problems they've had with lip sync and SKY HD

Yes I know that, but it's branded Hyundai on the actual tv.

Does that means it's made by Hyundai?

It doesn't make ANY difference WHO this is made by - PC World cancelled my order at 12:35 today because they don't actually have any of these!! Rather bizarrely they then sent me an email at 12:59 confirming the details of what I had ordered, stating this was subject to availability.
They also credited my Quidco account with £30.60 too :D Wonder if they'll think to ask for it back?

  • biglugs - hope you get to keep it -

I think this is issue of limited stock on websites for "silly prices" (not mis price) is something MSE (Martin) could take on board... I know I've been hit like this in the past by Amazon -- then cancel order with a silly excuse.

If they only have a VERY VERY limited number of these; we know they would sell like hot cakes at any LOCAL store in a matter of hours. If they only have a few left you wouldn't mind but spend ages typing in main towns to see if they have any in stock. -- oh what a great web site they have.

If they only have 100 or less why not put it on the site - at least it would not give them a bad rep by 100's reading this thread and some would see it;s a bit of a blinkered vision by any relevant company/group...
Me i'm always after a good deal.. :rotfl:
  • More stocks are coming in soon (so I've been told)

Anyways - does the unit have a VGA port for use with the PC or would I need to get a new graphics card for the PC to connect via the HDMI port?

    Thanks
