Privdent Debt
Hi,
This is my first posting. Basically i took out a provident loan a few months ago to help pay the deposit and first months rent for a flat. I had already had a loan with them before and paid it off in full, never missed a payment.
Unfortunately shortly after moving i lost my job and i am now on benefits and i really cant seem to factor the provident repayments into my budget. My rent and council tax are covered by housing benifits and get the standard £51 odd a week of the jobcentre, while my provident payment is £37 a week!
can someone please help me out? i dont know if i can work out a smaller repayment!
Thanks.

Hi,
Go see CCCS or national debtline and pay the nominal £1.00 per month until your situation improves. It will ruin your credit rating (but the chances are that if you are using provident you have a poor credit rating already!). DO NOT go to one of the fee paying advice companies such as Churchwood or Gregory Pennngton etc as you can get the same service / advice for free!0 -
your agent may be able to help you out if you speak to them, most of the time they would rather drop your weekly payments rather than have it go to default0
