Credit card. Stopped receiving letters!

Any advice!
Got into deep financial trouble about three years ago. Had to prioritise repayments ie own bank, debt collection agency etc!
My problem is one of the bills I ignored (capital one credit card)stopped contacting us about two and half years ago, which I didn't mind so much as it allowed us to concentrate on other debts.
Now I'm in a slightly better position it's beginning to worry us why they never ever got in contact, is it down to me to chase them up and has any one else been in similar position!

check your credit report for whom owns it, then make them an offer to settle0
