Post Office credit card travel money

If you go to the web page for Post Office credit card it promises you can use it to buy Post Office travel money with 'no cash advance fee'. The bad news is the Post Office credit card is a Mastercard and the Post Office charges stiff fees for using any Mastercard to buy travel money including their own!

You need to be very careful what you read from the advertising.

    There is a difference between

    currency commission
    cash advance fees
    interest
    and ATM fees

If a card advertises the abscence of ONE fee, you need to check out all the others.

The Post Office doesn't levy any fees, these are levied by your card issuer.
So if the Post Office credit card doesn't levy them, then you won't get charged.

Much like the Tesco and M&S credit cards, it will just be classified as purchase rather than cash advance at their own outlets.

If you wish to pay by MasterCard credit card a handling fee of 1.5% of the order value will be applied (min £4.00 – max £15.00).This will be shown within your order summary.
